Leagues

Four nights a week, from the start of June. Couples, women, an open league and three divisions of men’s golf — and a sub list on every one of them.

Monday6:00 pm shotgun

Couples league Full

Two couples to a team, played under the Chapman system — you both drive, swap balls for the second shot, then pick one and play alternate shot in. It is sociable, it is quick, and it starts the first Monday in June.

The sheet is full for this season, but there is a waiting list and a sub list, and subs get used most weeks.

TuesdayTee times 4:30 & 4:40 pm

Women’s league Open to all

Individual point play first, then scramble teams. There is nothing to sign up for and no partner to find in advance — turn up around 4:30 and draw for partners with everyone else.

New golfers are genuinely welcome here. It is the easiest league on the calendar to walk into on your own.

Just turn up, or ring the clubhouse on (712) 477-2576

WednesdayFrom early June

Open league Anyone

Open to all comers, starting the first week of June. Last season’s teams are signed up again automatically, so if you played last year you do not need to do anything.

New teams are welcome while there is room — get in touch before the start of June if you want a place.

ThursdayEarly, middle & late

Men’s league Three divisions

The biggest league at Meadow Acres, split into three divisions with early, middle and late tee times so it suits whatever time you can get away from work.

Divisions are matched on ability, so you are playing people of roughly your standard rather than giving away a dozen shots a night.

You will be fine

Nobody here is playing for money and nobody is keeping score on how you dress. Most people turn up straight from work, play their nine, and stay for something from the kitchen afterwards.

If you are not sure which night suits you, Tuesday and Wednesday are the easiest to walk into — neither needs a partner or a team organised in advance.

  • Register at the clubhouse before you go out, same as any round
  • Green fees or your membership cover the golf
  • The kitchen does something homemade on league nights
  • Subs are always wanted — ask to go on the list

Ask about a league, or put your name down as a sub

Tell us which night suits and we will point you at the right person. Subs get called most weeks, so it is a good way to start.
